ARTICLE - Ten Simple Ways to BE in Your Beautiful Body

During this busy time of year, it is so easy to become ungrounded and lose your center. When this happens, you give up your energy and can easily become exhausted and triggered by family or friends if things don’t go as planned.  And think about it…when do things go according to plan?

Life happens when you are busy making plans!

To be able to flow with joy and fun when life happens, here are some simple ways to be aware of the signals that your body is giving you, and take responsibility for your own experiences.

1. Breathe deeply…make a commitment to breathe for 30 seconds down deep into your belly when you arise every morning from now until the end of the year.

2. Jokes…find your funny this season. Have a few jokes handy to create some healthy and healing laughter. Laugh at yourself often.

3. Smile…at anyone and everyone including yourself in the mirror.

4. Sleep…write down how many hours of sleep you have on your calendar in the morning…each week note your average…go for an average of 8 hours a night.

5. Eat something healthy that you enjoy everyday…maybe just a banana in the morning. Note how good it feels to eat it.

6. Drink at least 1 liter of hot water everyday. More is always better…not boiling but as hot as you can drink it. Add lemon for some added flavor and health benefits.

7. Meditate every morning for at least 5 minutes…basically sit quietly with yourself…nothing fancy needed.

8. Dance to your favorite music for 5 minutes a day…a song that makes you let loose a little.

9. Take at least 10 deep breaths out in the fresh air…could be on the way to the car or on the way into the shopping center. Just notice the air.

10. Look at your body in the mirror every day after you shower/bathe…let it know that you are paying attention.

Live, Love, Laugh………….

FINDING THE FUNNY - Women Saving Lives! :)

DAY 1:

Dear Diary,

All packed for the cruise ship — my nicest dresses, swimsuits, short sets. I'm very excited. Our local Red Hat chapter planned this "all-girls" trip. It will be my first one, and I can't wait!

DAY 2:

Dear Diary,

Spent the entire day at sea. Beautiful! Saw whales and dolphins. Met the Captain today — seems like a very nice man.

DAY 3:

Dear Diary,

At the pool today. Did some shuffleboard, hit golf balls off the deck. Captain invited me to join him at his table for dinner. Felt honored and had a wonderful time. He is very attractive and attentive.

DAY 4:

Dear Diary,

Won $800.00 in the ship's casino! Captain asked me to have dinner with him in his own cabin. Had a scrumptious meal, complete with caviar and champagne. He asked me to stay the night, but I declined. Told him I could not be unfaithful to my husband.

DAY 5:

Dear Diary,

Pool again today. Got sunburned, and I went inside to drink at piano-bar, stayed there for rest of day. Captain saw me, bought me several large drinks.

Really is quite charming. Again asked me to visit his cabin for the night. Again I declined. He told me if I did not let him have his way with me, he would sink the ship. I was shocked!

DAY 6:

Dear Diary,

Today I saved 1600 lives. Twice.

CBL#145 - Changing the Conversation about Beauty

Would you dedicate a year of your life, all alone, to falling in love with yourself? That is what my special guests, Malinda Dowsett and Lani Barna, did and what they found on the other side is inspiring to listen to. The specific principles they used on their journey from rock bottom to thriving and powerful is documented in their book, "Change Your Conversation, Change Your Life." The stories these women vulnerably share is a common one amongst women, and their advice is solid and practical. Lani would consistently study spirituality, intention work, and brain science. Then she and Malinda would take her learnings, and have long conversations applying the concepts to their everyday lives.  Women are taking their power  back, and these two exemplify that. Click listen button below to hear the whole show.

Malinda Dowsett and Lani Barna are two friends who hit rock bottom. Two women who turned to each other and empowered each other to become the strong, independent women they always knew they could be. They discovered that they could choose how they wanted every experience in their lives to feel, and that they could hold that vibration with their conversation. This is their journey — how two women changed everything about their lives, one conversation at a time.

In 2008 when Malinda and Lani were in the midst of some of life's toughest hurdles -divorce, suicide, near fatal experiences, single parenthood, job loss, financial disaster and inner turmoil. From failure to success they overcame years of self-defeating, habitual behavior by implementing the principles they put forward in their book and into everyday life.

Changing your conversation is the powerful beginning of every new journey.

These two remarkable women believe that every question we ask, every conversation we have, is the Law of Attraction at work. The spark that sets everything else in motion. The first step towards the fulfillment and completion we all seek. And although sometimes the first step down a long path may seem small in comparison to the journey, it is vital because without it there would be no journey at all.

"Change Your Conversation, Change Your Life" has one message — We all have a story. It's how you tell it that matters.

Events coming up are empowerment meetup groups and live Q & A with Malinda and Lani. They will be in Washington DC on December 4th, and Nashville, TN on February 4th.

Think of all the conversations that need changing in our world!

ARTICLE - BEing Thankful for Your Beautiful Body

A song’s lyrics contain the line…“My body is the temple of my spirit.”

Is it true?

As someone who lives with a health condition that causes physical pain to my body, it is a harsh reality for me to face. Is my spirit in pain? Yes, it is. Do I create my own pain and self-hatred? Not consciously, but I most definitely have a role in it. We must be aware and conscious before we can change.

Okay, my situation is rather unique because I feel the pain physically in my body. The condition I was diagnosed with manifests as an overactive immune system, my body is attacking the cartilage, ligaments, tendons and muscles around the joints. My body is literally attacking itself…it is not a stretch to say that it is a physical form of self-hatred.

Mine may be physical and obvious, however most women suffer from body self-hatred. Yes, it is a strong phrase, and there is a strong need to accept the truth of it so it can change. How can we deny this truth when the following startling statistics from the “International Journal of Eating Disorders,” show how early we are trained to find something wrong with our bodies?

*Among children in grades 1-3, 42% want to be thinner
*Among 11-13 year old girls, more than 50% believe they are overweight
*More than 10% of teenage girls report binge eating at least once a week
*More than 90% of college women in the mid-90s had attempted to control their weight through diets
*80% of US women do not like how they look
*Approximately 1 in 100 women in the US binge and purge in order to lose weight

What are some of the repercussions of this phenomenon in our world?

*low self-esteem and self-worth in women
*women set themselves up for failure by comparing their bodies to models on magazine covers (the average US woman is 5’4” tall and weighs 140 lbs while the average model is 5’11” and weighs 117 lbs)
*women have a happiness deficit because they don’t feel good in their own skin
*women have a difficult time feeling sexually and being present with their partners because they are too worried about how they look naked
*women have a difficult time achieving orgasm
*men don’t understand women’s body issues, and don’t know how to help
*women wait until men find them attractive
*women relinquish their natural role in choosing mates

These repercussions have a negative impact on our planet. If women do not feel happy with their bodies, they do not find their relationships fulfilling and satisfying. It is hard for a man to feel happy when a woman feels that way about herself. When women are feeling their beauty and sexuality, they can literally breathe with the earth.

How can we bring the beauty back? How can we encourage our children to look within to their beautiful souls for how they feel, and not their outer appearance? What is the role of the woman in this journey back? What is the role of the man? In future articles, I will explore these curious questions.

For now, during this Thanksgiving time of year in the US, I am inviting women to BE Thankful for your body and how it has served you throughout your life: the pleasures, the pains, the glories, the defeats. Feel grateful for ALL of it, as all of your experiences have led you to this point in your life.

And I invite all mindful men to appreciate something about a woman’s body…maybe say, “Honey, you look really beautiful today.” Simple, yet so powerful.

A woman who loves her body is one of the juiciest energy vibrations on the planet!

FINDING THE FUNNY - Shopping for Sex???

There is something disturbingly funny about this.

Husband and wife are getting all snugly in bed. The passion is heating up.

But then the wife stops and says, "I don' t feel like it. I just want you to hold me."

The husband says " WHAT???" The wife explains that he must not be in tune with her emotional needs as a woman.

The husband realizes that nothing is going to happen tonight and he might as well deal with it.

So the next day the husband takes her shopping at a big dept. store. He walks around and had her try on three very expensive outfits. And then tells his wife, We 'll take all three of them. Then goes over and gets matching shoes worth $200 each.

And then goes to the jewelry Dept. and gets a set of diamond earrings. The wife is so excited (she thinks her husband has flipped out, but she does not care). She goes for the tennis bracelet.

The husband says "but you don 't even play tennis, but OK if you like it then lets get it.'

The wife is jumping up and down. So excited she cannot even believe what is going on. She says " I am ready to go, lets go to the cash register. "

The husband says, " no no no, honey we're not going to buy all this stuff." The wife face goes blank.

" No honey - I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while."

Her face gets really red she is about to explode and then the husband says " You must not be in tune with my financial needs as a MAN!"

How did the punch line make you feel?

CBL#144 - A Male Perspective on Inner Beauty with Fredrik Ejemo

My passionate special guest, Fredrik Ejemo, shares his intimate story discovering the divine feminine from a woman in the marketplace in india. He sees that when women are connected to inner beauty and sexuality, they can breathe with the earth. My former guest, John Gray who has coached thousands of men and women, said the exact same thing. You've got to hear Fredrik's description of what it feels like to be a man in the presence of a woman who loves herself. For the whole interview, click the listen button below.

Fredrik Ejemo, actor, musician, and writer was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden.  At age 17, Fredrik was discovered by a casting director and soon began a career in the performing arts. He starred in the television show ‘Three Crowns’, the #1 TV series in the country and then went on to star in ‘Friends and Enemies’, another  successful television series. Later he joined the prestigious Royal Dramatic Theater in Sweden and acted in several national theater productions.

When he was 21 years old, Fredrik traveled to Thailand and had a spiritual awakening that deeply affected the course of his life. He dove into metaphysical studies, exploring ancient wisdom and mysticism in order to understand this new level of conscious awareness. Driven by a longing desire to heal his own dysfunctional family patterns, an absent father and wounded mother, led Fredrik on a quest to find the sacred feminine to restore divine union within himself. This resulted in a 3 year sabbatical which took him on a journey throughout India, Southeast Asia, and the United States.

He crossed path with many spiritual teachers from different traditions. Shri Shri Ravi Shankar, Byron Katie, Joan Halifax, Bernie Prior, and Brad Blanton, to name a few. He explored shamanism, yoga, martial arts, meditation, and many new healing modalities. Fredrik’s writings have been published in the Swedish book, 15 Gånger Asien (15 Stories from Asia).

Currently Fredrik is working in the field of naturopathic medicine and studying energy medicine in Laguna Beach, California. He spends his spare time working on his new music album.

A Womens Grace

Womens Radiance A womens true power is found in her radiant openness. As she allows herself to be the gateway of the essence within her. As she refuses to hold anything back from the ocean that lives within her. The rivers and the waterfalls of her being…

When a man can drink from her eternal ever-changing waters moment to moment, she will cleanse his soul, purify his being and awaken his heart to the art of love.

Some bits of wisdom from the interviews:

FINDING THE FUNNY - More on Women and Sex - hehe

An old Jewish man is walking along the beach when he sees something glittering in the sand.

He picks it up - it's a bottle. He brushes it off and a genie pops out.

"I will grant you one wish," the genie says.

"One wish?" the old man says. And from his back pocket, he takes out a crumpled old map.

"You see this?" he says to the genie. "This is a map of my homeland, Israel, and right next to it is Palestine. They are neighbors and yet for years and years they fight and kill each other. My wish is that you bring peace to my homeland and Palestine."

The genie says, "Oh, my, that is a very big wish you ask for. And though I am a very magical genie, I don't think even I can grant that wish. Do you have any other wish?"

The old man says, "Okay. How 'bout that my wife Sadie should like the oral sex?"

The genie thinks a moment and says, "Let me take another look at that map."
