CoachBettyLIVE! #104 - Living Simply and Deeply with Cecile Andrews and Betsy Otter Thompson

These two fabulous women will be talking about what we can create in the world together. Cecile Andrews latest book , Less is More, reinforces her philosophy from her first book, Circle of Simplicity. The second half of Coach Betty LIVE will highlight Betsy Otter Thompson and her new book, Walking Through Illusion. I know that transformation happens when we are able to eliminate illusions and get back to basics.

A former community college administrator, Cecile Andrews is a community educator and a founder of Sustainable Greenwood Phinney. She is the author of three books: Less is More, Slow is Beautiful, and Circle of Simplicity. She has her doctorate in education from Stanford. She teaches workshops for the Phinney Neighborhood Association, writes a monthly column for the North Seattle Herald Tribune on Voluntary Simplicity, and is on the board of the Seattle Gross National Happiness Initiative. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Antioch University. To order her books and learn more go to www.cecileandrews.com.

Betsy’s work has always gravitated toward the media. A Philadelphia native with a B.F.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, Betsy worked as an account executive for WFIL radio in Philadelphia, and from there went to radio stations WPEN and WFLN. After that, she became a commercial print model and acted in television commercials in Philadelphia and New York. From 1987 to 1999, she worked in Los Angeles at the motion picture and television company Castle Rock Entertainment. She is now a full time author. My special guest, Rebecca Costa, is a sociobiologist whose unique expertise is to spot and explain emerging trends in relationship to human evolution, global markets, and new technologies. A thought-leader and provocative new voice in the mold of Jared Diamond, Thomas Friedman and Malcolm Gladwell, Costa is part biologist, psychologist and entrepreneur, whose insights result from examining the “big picture.” Her successful career identifying global trends, combined with her keen ability to perceive the unifying concept within diverse and interrelated fields, uniquely qualify her to present a multi-disciplinarian approach to complex, systemic issues affecting our world today. And if that is too serious for you, Bob Banner will be on the show to share laughter yoga. How and Why it works to help us heal.
